The primary field color is dark blue with a dark red border. small medallions and flower heads alternate in columns in the field connected via curved branches and leaves. The Persian Mahal Sultanabad carpets with the all-over design were woven in Persia from the mid-1800s to the first quarter of the 1900s and have become world renowned and are very desirable.
