2’ 2” x 4’ 1” A beautiful Chimayo rug was woven in Mexico in the 2nd quarter of the 1900s. The rug has a beautiful baby blue color with stripes in brilliant colors including blue, brown, yellow, black, and cream throughout. The rug is extremely fine woven and could be great as wall art or tapestry.
Chimayó is a census-designated place (CDP) in Rio Arriba and Santa Fe counties in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The name is derived from a Tewa name for a local landmark, the hill of Tsi Mayoh.
