Description
6’ 9” x 10’ 3” The Qashqai tribes have kept their tradition of moving to highland pastures in the summer where the weather is cooler and lowland fields in the winter where the weather is warmer. This beautiful Qashqai gallery size rug is truly one of the kind because of its size since the Qashqai tribes of the western Persia (Shiraz Region) made smaller area rugs on a small horizontal loom. This rug was made around 3rd quarter of the 19th century and could have been made for the leader of the tribe. The paisley pattern on the corners on a cream back and the blue background in the main field with a central medallion make the combination truly beautiful.
