Description

Discover one of the most beautiful and finest examples in our collection: this magnificent Vintage Persian Tabriz Mahi Rug. Meticulously hand-woven by master artisans in one of the best workshops in the city of Tabriz during the third quarter of the 1900s, this piece is a testament to the unparalleled artistry of Persian weaving.

This vintage Tabriz Mahi design is a true masterpiece in every sense, featuring a very unique and rare pomegranate red color in the central field. This rich, jewel-toned hue sets a dramatic and sophisticated tone for the entire composition. The corner spandrels, rendered in a soft and elegant pale yellow, provide a harmonious and luminous contrast to the deep red.

The Mahi (Fish) design, a classic motif revered for its intricate and graceful patterns, is a perfect example of timeless Persian artistry. While this design has been widely emulated in other weaving centers, finding a masterpiece of this quality is a true challenge. The intricate details of the border are a work of mastery in both design and color usage, showcasing the artisan's exceptional skill.  This rug is a genuine treasure, representing the pinnacle of Tabriz weaving.
