Description

4’ 7” x 9’ 8”  19th Century Caucasian Kazak kilim in ivory, rust, green, blue, and navy. Since Kilims are tapestry type flatweaves (no pile), finding one that is over 125 years in such a great condition is extremely rare. This Caucasian Kilim is a stripe pattern with hooked diamond designs in each band.  The hand woven Kilims use organic vegetable dyes which over time develop different shades.  This natural effect adds to the uniqueness and the beauty of each piece. The combination of bright and beautiful colors in rows make this a breathtaking piece of art.    It is a wonderful representation of the artistic creation by the village weavers.
