The was was woven at the "Sherkat Farsh" workshop which is known for very high-quality production. In addition, the signature of the weaver is woven into the rug making it even more desirable. This Yazd rug has a beautiful and very unique "pomegranate red" or a rust-red field color with a small central medallion in navy blue. The overall design is floral with a vase design for the corner spandrels. The border is a dark navy blue which frames the rug perfectly. The Persian Yazd rug has a very tight weave with a medium knot density.
Side Note: Yazd is one of the oldest cities in the world and the tradition of fine weaving goes back centuries. The 13th-century Venetian explorer Marco Polo traveling through Persia mentioned the fine weaving tradition in the city of Yazd.
