Description

Woven in Eastern Anatolia in the early years of the 20th century, this vintage Kurdish kilim carries a design vocabulary that bridges two great weaving worlds — its bold geometric patterns and ivory field recall the tribal kilims of the southern Caucasus as much as those of Eastern Turkey, reflecting the cultural crossroads from which it emerged. Diamonds and multi-sided rectangles march across the surface in striking formation, their forms bold enough to register from across a room yet full of fine interior detail upon closer inspection. Its generous width and length make it a natural gallery runner or wide corridor rug, bringing warmth and visual energy to any long passage.

Its antique age, unusual proportions, and the crosscultural richness of its design make it a genuinely rare and rewarding acquisition.
