3’ 6” x 6’ 2”     Vintage Mexican Serape Saltillo Kilim Rug in cream color.   A beautiful Serape kilim blanket rug was woven in Mexico in the late 20th century. The rug has a beautiful cream or wheat colored wool with designs of birds in vibrant orange.  It has a Saltillo design with a small lozenge medallion in the center in wonderful colors of ivory, black and orange.  The rug also has a design of the birds similar to the Navajo and even the Tibetan rugs in orange and blue.  The Saltillo Serape rugs originated in Saltillo, a city in the northern state of Coahuila in Mexico.   The kilim rug is finely woven and could be great as wall art or tapestry.
