3’ 1” x 8’ 4”   Ultra-modern, artistic & beautiful!  This handmade vintage Moroccan "Boucherouite" rug is woven entirely with cut-up pieces from the fabric of old clothes on a flatwoven foundation piece.

The word “Boucherouite” literally means “Torn or reused fabric” in the Arabic language which is the spoken language of most North Africa and Middle East countries.  The Moroccan women weavers use this material to make these beautiful modern design rugs that have imaginative design patterns and wonderful colors.

This is providing the tribal families changing from nomadic life to a village a source of income to support their families.

This is also a wonderful way of “recycling” material while creating handwoven rugs that have ultra-modern design and brilliant colors including red, pink, blue, green, purple, brown, and yellow. The weaved design and the use of bright colors make this an ideal tapestry wall art or a carpet as a centerpiece of any design.
