Description

Woven in Mexico during the third quarter of the 20th century in the visual tradition of the Southwestern United States, this vintage kilim is a handsome and versatile piece that bridges the weaving cultures of northern Mexico and the American Southwest. A rich green background is adorned with small medallion motifs in red, ivory, and blue that echo the tribal geometric vocabulary of Navajo weaving — bold, clean, and deeply satisfying in its rhythmic repetition. As a flat-woven kilim, it offers two sides: one with a softer, light-weathered patina, the other with deeper, more vibrant hues, giving you styling flexibility for different rooms and seasons.

A handsome and versatile piece, it works equally well as an accent rug in a living room, a layering piece beneath a larger rug, or mounted on the wall as a textile artwork.
