Description

3’ 4” x 5’ 2”      One of a very rare identical pair of Tabriz rugs (1207 & 1208) in the "Shah Abbas" design refers to the design that was used for the Persian Royal Court rugs during the Savafid Dynisty Region in the 16th century.

The rugs have a very unique and bright and beautiful pomegranate red field color and a navy blue border.  Other colors in the field and border include turquoise blue, pink, green, red, and brown.  The use of silk for highlighting the patterns and shapes makes the designs stand out.  The use of white in the corner spandrels frame beautifully this masterpiece of Persian weaving.  The rugs are very fine weave and have a high knot density.
