Description

6’ 8” x 9’ 7”    A very fine weave vintage Persian Tabriz room size rug in a floral design with silk highlights in ivory, taupe, and sage green colors from the 4th quarter of the 1900s.  The beautiful Tabriz rug  was very finely woven in a renowned workshop known for its great designs and color palette.  The rug has a floral “Garden Design” featuring birds on trees throughout the field and border.  The rug has a wool pile with a cotton foundation with extensive use of silk for highlighting.    The floral design is set in a cream color field with a taupe color border.   The corner spandrels are sage green and cream with floral designs in blue, green, and gold color silk.    It has a central medallion in sage green, and cream colors with floral designs in blue, red, and pink.  The floral design colors include blue, green, red, and cream colors with the brilliant silk used for the highlighting of the design, The words and written description cannot describe the beauty of the rug.

The rug is so finely woven that the back of the rug is as beautiful as the front.  The last few photos and the video shows this.  The pictures and video do much better in conveying the beauty of the rug but don’t capture the in-person experience.
