Description

Beautiful Persian Kerman Lavar area rug hand-knotted in the late 1800s, this piece is a testament to the world-renowned artistry of the weavers from the village of Lavar, located on the edge of the great desert in Southeast Persia.

The rug features a beautiful and harmonious allover floral pattern, with intricate designs in a delicate palette of luminous ivory, vibrant red, and serene light blue. The main field is a soft ivory color, while the corner spandrels are rendered in a rich red, creating a striking contrast. The entire composition is expertly framed by a rose-red color border, which features its own beautiful floral design throughout.

The artistry of this rug is deeply rooted in its environment. Kerman and Lavar weavers used the color and flower designs in their rugs to bring some of nature’s beauty and vibrancy to the dry desert landscape they inhabited. This rug perfectly represents this tradition, with its powerful design and beautiful colors.
