4’ 3” x 6’ 8” This Mahal Sultanabad carpet from Western Persia is in an all-over design pattern and has a dark blue field with large geometric designs and brilliant colors. Organic vegetable dyes include shades of green, blue, pink, red, white, and yellow. The border is in a rich dark red color. The design of this antique Persian Mahal Sultanabad carpet is similar to the rugs designed by the renowned British designer William Morris of the Arts & Crafts movement of the late 1800s and early 1900s.
