Beautiful vintage silk rug from Herat, Afghanistan, dating back to the early 1900s. Hand-knotted with meticulous craftsmanship, this room-sized rug features a captivating all-over geometric pattern highlighted by large medallions in rich shades of red, brown, and black, set against a luxurious cream-colored silk field. The contrasting border showcases interconnected pink medallions on a black background, adding depth and sophistication to the design. The rug is further adorned with kilim woven ends, a flat tapestry technique that adds texture and visual interest.
