7’ 3”x 10’ A wonderful example of village weaving from NW Persia is represented in this room-size Heriz Serapi rug from the late 1800s. The rug has dark red field color with corner spandrels in beautiful French Blue and pink colors. The central medallion colors include navy blue, French blue, yellow, and red colors. The rug has a navy blue border with designs in green, blue, yellow, pink, and red. The wonderful design contains brilliant abrash blue, pink, red, and yellow that is the result of using organic vegetable dyes which over time develop into beautiful hues.
