Description
4’ x 7’ 2” A 19th century Persian Silk Kashan area rug in floral/medallion design set on a red field. The design and the color combination clearly demonstrates the mastery of the art of weaving in Kashan in this period. There is a central extended medallion in navy blue with its center in ivory and blue. The corner spandrels have a triple paisley design each with a different color scheme. The Kashan rug has a wonderful border design set in ivory with designs in blue, red. Although the rug is somewhat worn, it still shows the beauty and the art form.
