Description

This vintage Caucasian Kazak area rug circa the late 1800s.  Featuring the classic four-gul design—a revered motif in Kazak weaving traditions—this rug is set against a richly abrash red field, accented with scattered smaller symbols that enhance its dynamic composition.

Vivid hues of indigo blue, golden yellow, emerald green, and ivory bring life to the generous border design, framing the field in a rhythm of symmetry and color harmony. Handwoven using high-quality wool and traditional dyeing techniques, the rug reveals both strength and nuance—making it as durable as it is decorative.  Kazak rugs like this one are celebrated for their timeless appeal, blending tribal authenticity with artistic sophistication.
