Pet Stains

Enzyme Wash to Remove Dog Urine & Odors

We love our pets and they are part of the family, but sometimes our pets have an accident or decide to use the rug as the bathroom.  If your pet has an accident on your rug, or you have food or drink spills (coffee, wine, etc.), you need to have the carpet professionally cleaned as soon as possible to prevent long-term damage to the rug.   Do not use the typical household cleaning agents since they might damage the rug permanently.

To remove pet stains and odors, we use a special enzyme bath that does an excellent job of removing the odors and stains. The process starts with the removal of dust and dirt embedded in the carpet. Then the carpet is soaked in an enzyme bath for several hours.

Then the carpet is completely soaked in a special PH Balanced carpet shampoo and water. The carpets then go through a final shampooing and rinse.  Next is spinning in a special carpet spinner to remove the water. The final step in cleaning the carpet is drying it in a temperature and humidity-controlled special drying room for a 24-48 hour period.

At the Persian Knot Gallery, we believe in reducing our negative impact on the environment.  We do this by helping our clients to reduce their carbon footprint by maintaining the rugs that they buy from us.

As our rugs were produced over 75 to 100 years ago and can be used for another 100 years if washed and maintained regularly.   We believe it’s a win-win approach: enjoy the beauty of an artisan handwoven rug whose quality and workmanship will provide use and joy for generations while reducing the negative impact on the climate.
