Description
46” x 54” Beautifully hand-crafted American Amish pieced cotton quilt in a “Baby Blocks” pattern from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania circa the mid 1900s. The prominent colors in the quilt are lavender and pale gray, green with individual square block pieces which are hand-cut and hand-stitched. The quilt has very fine hand stitching. The Amish community in Pennsylvania hand craft the quilts for their own use using the material that they had on hand. It is a beautiful example of an upcycling and reuse of material that has utilitarian functions but is also a representation of the art and culture that is woven into it. Please note that some of the colors might be distorted in the photos. Please see the video to clarify.
