Welcome to The Persian Knot
A Curated Collection of Authentic 19th and early 20th-Century Fine Handwoven Rugs, Tapestries and Textiles From Around the World
The 19th century American Applique Quilt was hand stitched in the late 1800s in the southern region of the United States. The American Applique Quilt is a “Southern Tulip” pattern with maroon and orange tulip flowers with green stems and leaves on an ivory color background. It has a green and maroon diamond border dividing a grid of cream squares with a maroon and orange tulip motif. The quilt was hand stitched of individual pieces in each frame. It is truly a labor of love and dedication. The hand stitched quilts from the 19th and the early 20th centuries have become extremely collectable. Because it is so delicate and so beautiful, it would be a wonderful piece to use as a wall art tapestry.
