Decorating with Fine Handwoven Artisan Rugs

Posted by The Persian Knot Gallery on Oct 29th 2021

At The Persian Knot Gallery, We believe the rug should be the foundation and the centerpiece in a room's interior design plan. This places the rug as a piece of art, not unlike a fine painting or a sculpture..

The rugs that were woven in the 19th and the early 20th centuries have quality material and workmanship. The artisan weavers took time to make sure the material they used was natural and could stand the time. That is why these rugs look even more wonderful and beautiful than the day they were woven.

In today’s interior design "trends", some designers are only concerned with the colors used in the design of the space.  They spend more time selecting the fabric for the couch, the cushions, or the curtains than the rug for the room. Unfortunately, to them, the rug is an "afterthought" and in most cases, and they consider it as a "mere floor covering".

Fortunately, there are still many fine interior designers and their clients that have the education, knowledge, and appreciation of antique and vintage fine handwoven rugs that were crafted in the 19th and the early 20th centuries. They understand the high quality in material, design, and weaving of these beautiful artisan creations and how these enhance the design of the space. We are happy to work with these individuals and do our best to find the most beautiful pieces that would become the centerpiece and the foundation of the room's design.

At the Persian Knot Gallery, we believe in reducing our negative impact on the environment. We do this by helping our clients to reduce their carbon footprint by maintaining the rugs that they buy from us.

As our rugs were produced over 75 to 100 years ago and can be used for another 100 years if washed and maintained regularly.

We believe it’s a win-win approach: enjoy the beauty of an artisan handwoven rug whose quality and workmanship will provide use and joy for generations while reducing the negative impact on the climate.
