Description

6′ 7″ x 9' 9"      The room size Azari rug has an allover pattern of large forms set in an abrash ( beautiful natural variations in colors resulting from the use of organic vegetable dyes)  green and blue colors field.   The rug has the design of antique Kurdish rugs from northwestern Persia.  It was woven in Eastern Turkey close to the Azarbaijan province of NW Persia and on the border to the Caucasus region.

The weavers have used very high-quality "handspun" wool which they dyed using natural vegetable dyes to achieve the look and feel of the rugs from the 1800s.  The natural variegated colors known as "abrash" provide variations in blue and green colors which add to the beauty and the uniqueness of the carpet the simplicity in the overall design and open field makes this a very desirable village carpet.
