Description

This vintage Turkish Oushak area rug, woven in the mid-1900s, features a striking open medallion design set against a beautifully abrash field of pale salmon. The elegant corner spandrels display a luminous French blue tone, creating a delicate balance with the cream-colored central medallion framed in soft brown. The border is equally captivating, composed of large-scale geometric motifs in a palette of blue, green, pink, and brown.

Inspired by the grand design traditions of 19th-century Serapi and Bakhshaish rugs from Northwest Persia, this piece combines Anatolian weaving mastery with Persian artistic influence. The soft, time-mellowed wool and subtle color transitions give this rug an exceptional charm.
