Welcome to The Persian Knot

A Curated Collection of Authentic 19th and early 20th-Century Fine Handwoven Rugs, Tapestries and Textiles From Around the World

$2,400.00

5' 11" x 6’ 7”        The beautiful and extremely rare "near square" size American Rag Rug from the late 1800s.  The rug is a flat woven rug similar to kilims created by sewing two individually woven runners together. The American Rag Rug design is formed of a series of bands in natural earth tones very similar to Scandinavian kilims from the late 1800s or the early 1900s.   Simple but beautiful design (a Amish and Shaker concept) with unbelievably beautiful earth tone colors.  The colors include blue, brown, green, pink, red, ochre, purple, yellow, and variations on those colors!  Fantastically modern and beautiful that can be the foundation piece of any interior design plan.  Ideal rug for mid-century modern,  country or cottage interior design plans.

Customization: Resizing and refinishing service is available for this item upon request.  This includes reducing the size and refinishing it with a choice of colors for sides and end binding to give it a clean and finished look while protecting the runner while in use.
