Description

Vintage Persian Mahal Sultanabad room size rug from the Sultanabad area of Persia (modern-day Arak).  Beautiful all over design rugs have been produced in the area from the mid-1800s onward and have become world-renowned and are highly desirable for their unique color schemes and open, spacious designs, a style often associated with the prestigious Ziegler & Co. firm.

This beautiful rug features a captivating allover design pattern of large geometric forms masterfully interwoven with larger floral forms. This sophisticated balance of structured and organic motifs creates a visually dynamic and harmonious tapestry. The design is set against a vibrant and rich red field, which provides a powerful and inviting backdrop.

The rug's beauty is further enhanced by its masterful use of color, with a palette that includes a brilliant blend of bright reds, serene French blue, deep navy, delicate pink, and various other shades. This combination of hues creates a captivating visual journey across the rug, adding depth and elegance. The overall composition is expertly framed by a sophisticated dark navy blue border.
