Description

Beautiful 19th Century Persian Qashqai Gallery/Corridor tribal rug.  The main field of this wonderful rug is a deep, elegant navy blue, providing a striking background for a prominent central medallion. The corners feature a beautiful paisley pattern set against a warm cream backdrop, creating a captivating contrast and a harmonious design. The intricate motifs are woven in a rich palette of ivory, royal blue, yellow, and green, showcasing the weaver's artistic skill and the use of natural dyes.

This stunning runner is a vibrant tapestry of tribal tradition and artistic expression.  As a testament to the masterful craftsmanship of the nomadic Qashqai tribes of Western Persia, this rug is truly one of a kind due to its unusual large size for a tribal rug. The Qashqai, renowned for weaving on small horizontal looms, seldom created rugs of this scale, suggesting it may have been a special commission for a tribal leader.
