As we move through life, our abilities change and there may be a need to change also the home and our living space. Empty nesters usually move to smaller homes. Because of that, you may not be able to use the rugs in your new living environment. It is not because you don’t love your vintage heirloom rugs but because of their size, they may not fit the new living spaces.
We have been asked by our clients that have bought rugs from us if rug resizing is possible. The answer is yes! It is not only possible, but it is also a great way of sustainable living and reducing your carbon footprint and may be reducing our expenses. But most importantly, you can still use the rugs that you have loved and cherished and have great memories attached to them.
At the Persian Knot Gallery, we are doing what we can to help our clients minimize their impact on the climate. We do this by helping our clients maintain the vintage rugs they have inherited or have bought from us. These rugs have a “Zero Carbon Footprint”. They have natural material, and vegetable dyes and were created with minimal impact on the environment nearly a century ago.
The vintage rugs in our collection were produced over 75 to 100 years ago and can be used for another 100 years if washed and maintained regularly. We believe it’s a win-win approach: enjoy the beauty of an artisan handwoven rug whose quality and workmanship will provide use and joy for generations.
