5' x 6' 10″ A beautiful 19th century Jacquard Loom machine-woven French tapestry in the style of 16th century Belgium tapestries depicting a forest and hunting scene. This is a reproduction of one of the panels (panel #3) taken from a famous Renaissance series of twelve woven tapestries woven in 16th century Belgium. The Hunts of Maximilian, which were designed by Bernaert Van Orley (ca.1528-1531), originally hand-woven in Brussels, in the Dermoyen workshop (1531-1533) with wool, silk and metal thread.
