Description

This vintage handwoven kilim rug is a flat-woven with a color palette inspired by the natural beauty of the American Southwest. Woven entirely by hand, this unique textile features a bold striped field accented by three small geometric medallions.

The color composition—rich tones of red, lavender, orange, and ivory—evokes the shifting hues of desert landscapes, reminiscent of canyon walls and mountain horizons illuminated by sunrise and sunset. This earthy yet vibrant palette makes the rug exceptionally versatile, complementing interiors ranging from Southwestern and rustic to modern, bohemian, and eclectic design styles.

Constructed as a flat-woven kilim, this piece is lightweight, durable, and fully reversible, allowing for extended use and styling flexibility. Notably, the rug is composed of two individually woven kilim panels that have been expertly hand-joined.  Over time, natural exposure to light has created subtle tonal variation between sides—one displaying a softer, sun-faded patina, while the reverse retains deeper, more saturated hues.
