Description
8' 10" x 12' 6" Vintage room-size Kerman Vase carpet from the mid-1900s. The rug has a camelhair or apricot color background with an all-over trellis of leafy vines, palmettes, and vases issuing floral sprays within a black color flowerhead and palmette border. The wool is extremely soft and feels lush and rich and has a “velvety feel and look”. Colors range from ivory, blue, and magenta to a more golden and saffron cast.
The world-renowned Kerman Vase carpets that were woven in the 16th and 17th centuries are considered masterpieces of fine Persian weaving art. Fragments of those beautiful carpets are not in museum collections around the world.
