10’ 5” x 12’ 6” Beautiful antique Ziegler Mahal Sultanabad carpet from the last quarter of the 1800s. It has an all-over pattern in an abrash dark red or burgundy color field that contains a large geometric pattern similar to the 19th century Persian Bidjar and Serapi rugs. In exceptional condition at over 100 years of age. This stately Mahal Sultanabad has a luminous wool quality with a sheen that simply shimmers. The use of the saffron color in the narrow inner and outer borders adds tremendously to the beauty of this fine carpet.
