Description
67” x 80” Beautifully hand-crafted American Amish pieced cotton quilt in a “Nine Patch” pattern from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania circa the mid 1900s. The prominent colors in the quilt are purple, blue, and brown with individual pieces which are hand-cut and hand-stitched. The quilt has very fine hand stitching. The Amish community in Pennsylvania hand craft the quilts for their own use using the material that they had on hand. It is a beautiful example of an upcycling and reuse of material that has utilitarian functions but is also a representation of the art and culture that is woven into it. Please note that some of the colors might be distorted in the photos. Please see the video to clarify.
