Description
72” x 82” Mid-19th century American coverlet in blue, red, green and natural ivory colors. The coverlet has a central floral medallion with a grape vine surround design. It has a beautiful border design with birds, peacocks, flowers and wheat. The American coverlets became very popular during the early to mid part of the 1800s. A Jacquard loom was used to hand weave the coverlet. They were made special because the weaver was able to weave the name of the person ordering the coverlet in the lower left or right hand corner of the coverlet.
