Curated Collection of Authentic 19th and The Early 20th Century Fine Handwoven Rugs, Tapestries and Textiles From Around the World

$6,900.00

Vintage Persian room size rug, handwoven in the first half of the 20th century by the Bakhtiari tribes of western Persia. This piece features a beautifully understated all-over geometric design, rendered in a natural palette of camel hair, ivory, dark gray, and rich brown tones.

The field is composed of a soft camel hair or light brown background, covered in a repeating arrangement of diamond-shaped geometric motifs—each meticulously woven in tones of gray, black, and ivory, reflecting the tribal artistry and symmetry characteristic of Bakhtiari weaving. The border frames the composition with strong geometric elements in caramel, dark brown, and gray, set against a crisp ivory ground that enhances the structure and rhythm of the piece.

Crafted from natural handspun wool with a medium pile and earthy elegance, this Bakhtiari rug brings a grounded, timeless presence to both rustic and refined interiors. A versatile piece for collectors and designers alike, it exemplifies the authenticity, craftsmanship, and tribal heritage of early 20th-century Persian weaving traditions.
