This authentic late 19th century Persian Bidjar gallery rug, handwoven by Kurdish artisans in Northwest Persia. This antique Hashtrang (meaning “eight colors”) Bidjar features a striking geometric medallion design, with a series of interconnected medallions extending across the length of the rug. The medallions are set within a rich terracotta red field, creating a bold visual contrast against the abrash navy blue background. The natural abrash—subtle variations in tone from hand-dyed wool—adds depth, character, and unmistakable authenticity.
The composition is framed by a navy blue border with classic geometric motifs, accented by harmonious tones of ivory, brown, and soft blues. The rug’s balanced color palette and strong architectural design make it ideal for gallery settings, libraries, hallways, or refined interior spaces.
