Welcome to The Persian Knot Gallery

Curated Collection of Authentic 19th and The Early 20th Century Fine Handwoven Rugs, Tapestries and Textiles From Around the World

$8,900.00

A rare and elegant early 20th-century Persian Bidjar rug, masterfully hand-knotted and showcasing a bold medallion design enriched with intricate floral-geometric motifs. Renowned for their exceptional durability and artistic refinement, Bidjar rugs—often referred to as the "Iron Rugs of Persia"—are highly prized by collectors and interior designers alike.

This piece features a stunning abrash field in a dynamic interplay of French blue and rich red tones, highlighting the nuanced craftsmanship of its weavers. At its center lies a dramatic navy blue medallion, filled with delicately stylized floral forms in soft yellow, green, pink, and pale blue, beautifully offset against the darker ground. The corner spandrels echo the medallion’s depth in an abrash navy tone, lending harmony and balance to the overall design.

The border, rendered in French blue, is adorned with floral and vine patterns in complementary shades of blue, pink, yellow, and green. While the rug has a low pile consistent with its age, the condition remains sound, and its graceful aesthetic is preserved—making it an extraordinary statement piece for curated interiors or collections of fine vintage Persian rugs.
