Chinese Peking 1082

11’ 4” x 17’ 4”       19th century oversized Chinese Peking rug in ivory and French blue colors. The rug has a beautiful ivory color field background with the primary border in ivory.  The design in the field consists of a central medallion with designs of various Chinese symbols for fortune, prosperity, and long life throughout. The colors in the field and border include baby blue, French blue, brown, and pale green. The design of this Peking rug is very similar to the design of the Ningxia carpets from the 18th and the early 19th centuries.
