9’ 10” x 13’ 3”      19th Century Chinese Peking room size rug with auspicious and good fortune symbols including Qilin, butterflies, moths and clouds in indigo .  The rug has an indigo color field with a gold color border with shades of pale green and yellow accent color.  The design of the rug has Chinese symbols of happiness, prosperity, and long life throughout the field and border. The symbols include Qilin in the central medallion and butterflies, moths and clouds throughout the field.  Rug has a beautiful geometric pattern border.  Although it has some worn surface areas and has the “distressed” or “Shabby Chic” look and is still very beautiful and fully functional.

Dimensions: 9’ 10” x 13’ 3”  
Date of Manufacture:  4th Quarter of the 1800s
Place of Origin: China
Material:  Wool pile on a cotton foundation with organic vegetable dyes
Condition:  Wear consistent with age and use
