A Persian Hamadan area rug from the mid-1900s.  The rug has a red color field with a small central medallion in cream color.  The field design is a "Herati" geometric design.  The corner spandrels are dark blue with geometric forms throughout.  The Hamadan rug has a beautiful and colorful border with a geometric design in bright yellow, pink, green, blue, and brown colors.
