Description

3’ 1” x 8’ 4”  Vintage Moroccan "Boucherouite" rug hand-woven entirely with cut-up pieces from the fabric of old clothes.   The word "Boucherouite" means rag or torn clothes in the Moroccan Arabic language. This beautiful Moroccan rug is in a colorful “shag rug” design. The many colors include green,  blue, red, and many more. This is providing the tribal women and their families settling down in the village to have a new source of income to support their families.  The rug is designed to be fully functional on either side. The top side is woven similar to a rag or a shag rug. The back is flat-woven similar to a kilim.
