Description
4’ 6” x 7’ A vintage Persian Qum in an all over paisleys and meandering vines pattern set on a rich red background from the second quarter of the 1900s. The rug has an allover design of wavering vines and paisley forms set in a rich red color field. The vines have a pale blue background color and the paisley forms are in pink, red, and pale blue. The border in this Qum rug has an ivory color background with vines design. Looking at the rug, its design is reminiscent of the Kerman rugs that were woven in the 16th century, especially those of Alice de Rothschild’s Vase Carpet Trio that were recently auctioned at Christie’s.
