Description

Exquisite vintage Persian Qum Area Rug, meticulously hand-knotted in the second quarter of the 1900s. While Qum is renowned for its exceptional silk rugs, this wool masterpiece showcases the region's mastery in complex designs and vibrant palettes.

This rug features a highly unique and desirable all-over pattern of wavering vines and elegant paisley forms, gracefully set against a rich brick red color field. The meandering vines softly emerge from a pale blue background, creating a subtle contrast, while the stylized paisley forms are rendered in delicate pink, classic red, and serene pale blue, adding depth and harmony to the composition.

An elegant ivory color border frames the design, adorned with its own charming meandering vine motif in a sophisticated array of blue, verdant green, classic red, and sunny yellow.

What truly elevates this particular Qum rug is its striking resemblance to the celebrated 16th-century Kerman rugs, particularly those of the famous "Alice de Rothschild's Vase Carpet Trio," which achieved record-breaking prices at a Christie's auction in 2016. The intricate design and sophisticated all-over pattern evoke the grandeur and historical significance of these treasured antique masterpieces.
