19th Century Caucasian Shirvan area rug in tan, pale blue, green, cream and chocolate colors.  This beautiful Shirvan village area rug was woven in the Azerbaijan region of the southern Caucasus. The rug has a very desirable all over geometric pattern set on a rare tan color background with design colors in blue, pale yellow, navy, chocolate.  The border is a geometric design in pale blue, yellow set in an ivory color background.  It is a delightful area rug with a very sought-after pattern and earth tones color palette and wonderful design.

Date of Manufacture:  4th Quarter of the 1800s
Place of Origin: Caucasus
Material:  Wool pile on a wool foundation with vegetable dyes
Condition:  Wear consistent with age and use
