A late 20th century Persian Tabriz room size rug in a floral pattern. Hand-knotted in a fine workshop, this rug is a superb example of Tabriz's celebrated craftsmanship, renowned for its intricate floral designs, sophisticated palette, and exceptional quality.
This beautiful rug features a classic floral pattern set against a luminous ivory field, which provides a serene and elegant canvas for its design. A prominent central medallion, also in a captivating floral pattern, commands attention with a rich palette of salmon, verdant green, serene blue, and vibrant red. This central motif is a testament to the masterful skill and fine attention to detail of the Persian artisans.
The corners of the field are marked by harmonious green and gray spandrels with their own intricate floral design, which beautifully complements the central medallion. The rug's wool pile is expertly knotted on a sturdy cotton foundation, ensuring its durability. A special feature of this piece is the use of silk highlights within the flowers throughout the rug, which shimmer beautifully under the right light, adding a touch of luxury and dynamic visual interest.
The rug is in a new, excellent condition, preserving its full beauty and fine details. The ends have been finished in a kilim (flatweave) with the signature of the workshop, a mark of authenticity and fine provenance.
