Description

A magnificent early 20th century Persian Tabriz Mahi room size rug hand-knotted in the classic and beloved geometric pattern known as "Mahi" or "Fish," celebrated for its intricate design and graceful flow.

The rug's most striking feature is a series of five diamond medallions that expand outward from the center. Each medallion is rendered in a different color, creating a beautiful and dynamic progression of hues: a central cream medallion is followed by red, blue, cream, and green, creating a balanced and visually captivating composition. The richness of the natural dyes used in this piece is truly evident, with each color showing a depth and saturation that only time can enhance.

The entire design is expertly framed by a beautiful and vibrant red border, which adds a warm and inviting enclosure. This border is adorned with its own intricate designs, featuring alternating motifs in serene blue and delicate pink, perfectly harmonizing with the colors of the central field.
