Description

This vintage Turkish Hereke room-size rug features a finely woven allover geometric pattern of great visual richness, set against a soft straw-apricot field of warm, luminous beauty. The elegant design is framed by a pale lavender border with scrolling brown tendrils supporting cascading motifs in warm shades of yellow, green, and brown — a border treatment of considerable artistic distinction.

Within the field, rows of stylized floral bouquets in red, orange, blue, green, and golden tones are individually framed, creating the impression of a gallery of blooms — each cluster a small work of art in its own right. Hereke rugs, woven in the town of Hereke on the Gulf of İzmit since the 19th century, were originally produced for the Ottoman imperial court and are celebrated worldwide for their refined weave, balanced compositions, and luxurious aesthetic.
