Description

An exceptional late 19th-century Anatolian Turkish village rug in the traditional prayer (Mihrab) design, masterfully handwoven with organic vegetable-dyed wool. The serene pale yellow-green central field features a graceful two-column composition, symbolizing the prayer niche of Islamic architecture. Delicate accents in soft blue, rose pink, and earthy reds frame the piece, complemented by a pale ivory geometric border. A work of both devotion and artistry, this rug is equally stunning as a floor covering or as a wall-hung textile masterpiece.
