Featuring a striking palette of navy blue, red, ivory, and pale green, the piece is intricately woven with fine detail and craftsmanship. The coverlet is inscribed “Michael Umbarger, Middle Paxton Township Da. Co. 1859 Amos Killinger,” honoring both the recipient and the weaver — a common yet meaningful tradition made possible by the Jacquard loom, which allowed personalization through the intricate weaving process.
