4’ 7” x 7’ This beautiful “Bibibaff” (grandmother’s weave in Persian) rug from the Bakhtiari tribe in Western Persia is from the early 1900s. The masterful profusion of brilliant colors throughout the rug brings a sense of cheerfulness to the design. The theme of the garden design in Bakhtiari rugs is well known and the “Bibibaff” design is one of the most sought after in all Bakhtiari weavings. The range of the natural vegetable dye colors in the field with a white center medallion makes this one of the most colorful and beautiful and desired rugs.
