7′ x 10’ 4” Vintage Persian Jajim Kilim flat-woven rug with colorful stripes. This handwoven Jajim Kilim has stripes in multiple colors including blue, green, red, orange, brown, gray, yellow, and purple. The Jajim kilim was assembled by sewing together five different kilims that individually were woven on a horizontal loom and then sewed together to make the piece. The horizontal loom is used mostly by nomadic folks that move from their tents seasonally and therefore a vertical loom would not be practical. It is truly an artistic creation by people that live in harsh conditions in the fields but still have the ability to create wonderful pieces such as this Jajim.
